Every school has a room where the teachers go when the bell rings. At Westbrook High, it’s where they bring everything they cannot carry into the classroom.

As a new school year begins, an eager first-year teacher enters a faculty already stretched thin. The coffee pot is broken, the demands keep growing, and word that the school may close hangs over every conversation. While the principal tries to hold Westbrook together under district scrutiny, old frustrations surface and unlikely friendships form. Behind the jokes and arguments are people wondering how much more they can give.

The Teacher’s Lounge is a bold, heartfelt comedy about the lives educators lead beyond the classroom. With laughter, conflict, and moments of startling honesty, it asks a question we rarely put to the people entrusted with our children: Who takes care of the teachers?
